Thessaloniki Wine & Spirits Trophy – A Globally Recognized Competition
The Thessaloniki Wine & Spirits Trophy 2025 successfully concluded, highlighting the finest wines from Greece and Cyprus. The competition attracted 1,030 entries, with 736 of these wines receiving medals, confirming the high level of quality.
Cyprus made a significant impact, securing 44 medals (4 Gold, 14 Silver, 26 Bronze), with Vlassides Winery standing out once again with five major distinctions.
Gold Medal
- Artion 2019 (P.G.I. Limassol) – 91 points
Silver Medals
- Shiraz Vlassides 2022 (P.G.I. Limassol) – 90 points
• Alάtes 2022 (P.D.O. Krasochoria Lemesou) – 88 points
• Sauvignon Blanc Vlassides 2024 (P.G.I. Limassol) – 88 points
Bronze Medal
- Eddial 2020 (Varietal Wine of Cyprus) – 87 points
The judging panel consisted of 30 experienced tasters, including Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, oenologists, and wine journalists, who evaluated the entries based on strict international criteria. The fact that 77% of all entries were awarded medals showcases the continuous improvement in the quality of wines participating in the competition.
Cyprus’ 44 awards in the competition demonstrate the strength and international recognition of Cypriot wines. With its distinctions, Vlassides Winery reaffirms its commitment to quality and innovation, further establishing Cyprus on the global wine map.
